| Traditional
measurement methods are not adequate to cope with the problems of water resources
and with environmental attacks. SECOMAM, in association with Monsieur Olivier
THOMAS of the Ecole des Mines d'ALES, has developed an alternative technique
based on the analysis of UV absorption spectra of the samples. This technique
brings about a considerable gain in terms both of cost and time.
Multiparametric:
The IXO-510 is able to measure 5 parameters simultaneously and thus permits
rapid characterisation of the effluent. These parameters can be varied from
one user to another depending of the sample and its UV absorption.
Rapidity:
After the sample has been filled in the flowthrough cell, analysis and reading
of the results takes no more than a minute. This rapidity makes it possible
to carry out a large number of measurements and to react in real time in cases
of accidental pollution or of a process incident.
Simplicity:
FasThe sample does not require pre-treatment; if the sample is too concentrated,
the apparatus itself will applicate the dilution. IXO-510 can be managed by
personnel who do not possess special qualifications in chemistry.
Economy:
AIXO-510 operates without specific reagents and consumables; the cost of running
the machine is almost therefore independent of the number of analyses performed.
Semi
auto calibration can be performed using UV PRO software.
Fields
of application:
- Regulatory control for effluensts,
- Protection and detection of accidental pollution incidents,
- Water and waste water process and regulation control,
- Control of conformity of the type of water.
