Arsenic
enters groundwater from the erosion of arsenic containing rocks and soil.
Groundwater contanimated with arsenic has been found in 49 of the 50 states
in the U.S. Recent debate over changing the U.S. limit as well as the problems
in India and Bangladesh have made arsenic a hot topic. This arsenic test kit
provides a safe, reliable and simplified methid to test for the presence of
arsenic in water from 5 ppb to over 800 ppb. Inorganic arsenic compounds in
the water sample are converted to arsine (AsH3) gas by a reaction
between zinc powder and a mild acid powder. A test strip sensitive to the
arsine gas is used to indicate the presence and concentration of arsenic in
the water sample. A complete test requires about 30 minutes. Two water samples
can be tested simulataneously with the included test kit components.

Lead
is potentially toxic and can leach into drinking water from plumbing solder
and fixtures. The WaterSafe® Lead Check is a rapid immunoassay test similar
to a pregnancy test. Each test is calibrated to the U.S. EPA action level

Bacteria
Check is a presumptive presence - absence (P-A) test for detecting Coliform
bacteria in a variety of media including drinking water and pool/spa water.
The test provides qualitative information on Coliforms based on the presence
or absence of lactose fermentation. Described in standard methods and by the
USEPA, the P-A test is widely accepted. Bacteria Check is designed around
U.S. EPA standards of testing for one bacteria colony per 100 cc. Features
easy test method and requires no incubator. Easily interpreted results within
two days.
Simply add water to bottle and shake. Wait 48 hours. An obvious colour change from purple to yellow indicates likely presence of unsafe bacteria.
The
Bacteria Growth Check strips have been specially formulated with Brain Heart
infusion Media that allows for maximum cultivation of fastidious bacteria
found in water samples. Each kit includes 30 tests for easily, safely, and
inexpensively testing for active bacteria. Test strip packets are transparent
on one side for conveniently reading Bacteria Growth Check test reults.
Simply dip a Bacteria Growth Check test strip into water sample for 2 seconds. Slide test strip into packet so that the test pad is visible through the transparent film. Place the packet in a dark place at room temperature for 48 hours. Compare to colour chart and record the results.
